Individual start dates are based on your position and whether or not you are scheduled for any of the Specialty Trainings listed in the first section below. In general, most staff are at camp from early-to-mid June through mid-August.
Specialty Training Week
Waterfront Training - May 29-June 6; includes lifeguarding and either canoeing, sailing, or waterski training
Equestrian Training - May 29-June 6
Ropes Training - May 29-June 6
Skills Training Workshops - Creative Arts, Ropes Assistant* - June 3-6

All-Staff Training - June 8th to 13th
Individual start dates are based on your position and whether or not you are scheduled for any of the Specialty Trainings listed above. A portion of staff training is done virtually before your arrival to camp. It is highly recommended for all first-time staff to be at camp during this time although exceptions can be made with alternative training plans.
During the Summer - June 15th to August 8th
The first day campers arrive is Sunday, June 15th which begins eight week-long sessions and four two-week sessions that ultimately finish on Friday, August 8th. Sessions begin on Sunday afternoons and end on Fridays afternoons.
Typically, staff reside at camp from approximately 1 PM each Sunday until 6 PM the following Friday.
Unlike most other camps, you have many of your weekends off (click here to learn more about weekends off). Exceptions are the first weekend for specialty training and every second weekend if you are part of the two-week unit.
End Dates - August 8th or Stay for Additional Post-Camp Work
The last day of campers is Friday, August 8th. For most staff, this is also their last day. If you are interested and your schedule permits, some staff are offered the opportunity to stay after camp to help with retreats on an as-needed basis. Some staff stay and work for a few days, others for a few weeks, and other for even a few months.
Pay
Counselor pay is $4,500+ for the full summer for first-year Cabin Counselors and Specialty Staff based on your qualifications and position. First-year Medical Assistants are paid $5,000+, and residential kitchen staff are paid $4,200+ for the summer. Some staff also earn additional money for pre- or post-camp work. All staff are required to work the equivalent of 30 weekend hours as a two-week counselor and/or in support of the weekend program. International staff are paid slightly differently based on individual travel and visa requirements. Day-only staff are paid hourly based on their role between $13 and $18 per hour. American staff receive their pay by check or direct deposit to their bank account. International staff are paid by check or deposit to a pre-paid debit card. Pay is higher for licensed medical staff, returning staff and Leadership Staff.
Room and board is free for all summer staff. Almost all staff members live in cabins and lodges - sometimes with the campers and sometimes with other staff. Some Leadership Staff are housed in staff or family housing. Meals are provided, and the food is great!
